Day 1. July 31, 2027. ANTANANARIVO

Welcome to Madagascar – TONGA SOA!

Meeting at the airport, transfer to the Delta Hotels by Marriott 4* hotel, where we will check in and rest a little.
Optionally, in the evening, dinner at one of the city's best restaurants of our choosing. Madagascar's cuisine certainly deserves special attention.

Day 2. August 1, 2027. ANTANANARIVO – NOSY SOA PARK – PEYRIERAS REPTILE RESERVE – NIGHT SAFARI WITH LEMURS

After an early breakfast we set off for Nosy Soa Park, where we will meet lemurs in their natural environment. To reach the "island of lemurs," we will cross a small river by canoe and walk for about 30 minutes. Five species of lemurs await us here: King Julien (ring-tailed lemur), brown lemur, dancing lemur, bamboo lemur, and the Verreaux's sifaka. The lemurs are friendly and will happily welcome us from the boat. We will be able to feed them, observe them, and, of course, take plenty of photographs.
Lunch at a cozy restaurant on the shore of a picturesque lake. Here you can try local dishes, including sturgeon meat. Having enjoyed the food and the views, we continue on toward Andasibe, admiring rice fields, jungle, waterfalls, and the life of local residents.
Then we visit Peyrieras Madagascar Exotic Park, where local fauna await us: chameleons, frogs, and other exotic reptiles. We will spend about an hour and a half walking through the park and observing its inhabitants. Transfer to the hotel.
In the evening we leave the hotel and head into the jungle in search of nighttime dwellers: insects, frogs, chameleons, night moths. But our main goal is to find nocturnal lemurs. They emerge from their hiding places with the onset of darkness. The walk will last about an hour and a half. Afterward we return to the hotel, have dinner, and rest.

Day 3. August 2, 2027. ANALAMAZAOTRA RESERVE – ANTANANARIVO

We wake up in the humid tropical forests of Andasibe! After breakfast we head to Analamazaotra National Park – the largest area of the parks and home to the largest lemurs, the Indri. We will go in search of this giant in the reserve. This species of lemur is notable for its distinctive song and the absence of a long tail. Other rare lemur species also live here, as well as remarkable insects, chameleons, and birds.
After lunch we return to Antananarivo, enjoying the scenic landscapes along the way. Check-in, dinner.

Day 4. August 3, 2027. ANTANANARIVO — ANTSIRABE — FAMADIHANA CEREMONY

The road from Antananarivo to Antsirabe is a scenic route through rural Madagascar, where you can see terraced rice fields, small villages, and impressive landscapes. The drive usually takes about 4 hours, depending on road conditions and stops along the way.
A lunch featuring foie gras is a great way to get acquainted with the culinary side of French influence on the island. Foie gras — a delicacy usually served with bread or fruit sauces — can be found in some restaurants specializing in French cuisine, halfway along the route in the village of Behenjy and in the town of Antsirabe.
The ritual veneration of the dead – Famadihana – is a widespread practice in Madagascar. Today we will take part in this unusual ceremony. The Malagasy believe in the immortality of the human soul. In their eyes, death is not an end, but merely a transition to another state of being. They maintain that every departed soul will sooner or later return to earth in the form of a new life, once again touching this world through the birth of descendants. In this particular view of life and death lies joy for the Malagasy — for each new generation brings with it renewal and rebirth.
During the festive ceremony, families open the family tomb and bring the remains of their ancestors out into the light. They dress the departed in new silk shrouds and rewrite their names on the cloth. This is an act not only of honoring the departed, but also a kind of renewal of the connection with ancestors, emphasizing the cyclical nature of life and death.

Day 5. August 4, 2027. ANTSIRABE — ANTANANARIVO

Breakfast at the hotel at 7:00. Departure from Antsirabe back to Antananarivo, arriving around lunchtime. This evening a grand folklore evening awaits us – we will listen to musical instruments being played and watch local dances. Madagascar will reveal to us the secrets of its unique traditional musical instruments, such as the valiha, the ampunga, and the kabosy, and will burst into dance in the bright colors of raffia costumes! A renowned family ensemble with extensive experience performing around the world will take the stage.

Day 6. August 5, 2027. ANTANANARIVO – MORONDAVA

After breakfast, transfer to the airport. This time we head west to the delta of the Morondava River. This little town impresses with its charm, as if made to be worn like a colorful dress. As soon as we descend from the clouds, we will head straight to the hotel.
Here there are not only beaches and cocktails, relict and "Swiss" forests — here we will see it, the famous Avenue of the Baobabs. These ancient giants, standing here as guardians of time, have lived for more than a thousand years, and each of them is like a book telling of journeys and mysteries. And now we stand against the sunset, as if in a film. The mesmerizing baobabs pose for us like true models, and we, like professional nature photographers, will capture this moment. Ladies, don't forget a bright dress – as a mosaic accent against the backdrop of the avenue. We are part of the photo story of this place.

Day 7. August 6, 2027. MORONDAVA – ANTANANARIVO

Today we will rise early to reach our hotel's beach before dawn. Soon dozens of fishing boats will come into view — a wonderfully aesthetic sight. After enjoying the riot of colors of the dawn sky and having breakfast, we head to the airport.
Departure to the capital is scheduled for 10:15. Upon arrival we set off on a city tour.
Antananarivo, or "Tana" as the locals call their city, is the largest and most beautiful pearl in the necklace of Madagascar's cities, as well as the capital of the island nation, founded in 1625. The city is located in the central part of the country, at an altitude of 1,435 meters above sea level. Translated from Malagasy, the name Antananarivo means "city of a thousand warriors." The bustle of Antananarivo will pique your curiosity about what's going on there: someone carrying sacks, baskets on their head, someone running, others sitting and sunbathing.
Visit to Zoma Market, whose name comes from the Arabic word meaning "Friday." The market day used to be Friday, but now it operates every day. This is the most popular and colorful market in the heart of the city of Tana. Here you can get acquainted with local goods: vegetables, fruits, linens, handicrafts, and much more.
Independence Avenue – the straightest and widest street in the city center. It is lined with old buildings known as arcades, which in colonial times were used as governors' offices, shops, and restaurants. We will see the City Hall and the early 20th-century Soarano railway station. We will visit the "Lower Town," located in a lowland among marshes and rice fields, where the lower social strata of the city's residents live, and then the "Upper Town" – the uppermost district of Antananarivo, where the royal palace is located.
In the evening we will visit an observation deck offering a view over the whole city, and, if we are lucky, we will see the finest sunset. Dinner at the Café de la Gare restaurant.

Day 8. August 7, 2027. ANTANANARIVO – SAINTE-MARIE ISLAND

After breakfast, transfer to the airport.
Check-in for the flight and departure to Sainte-Marie at 12:00. Arrival on the island, transfer and check-in at the hotel, then we head to the Pirates' Cemetery.
Now is the time to explore the Island of Saint Marie, also known as Nosy Boraha in Malagasy place names. Today this land is renowned for its unique history, even though in the 18th century, when it is believed the island was the center of Libertalia, its existence was not marked on maps.
In 1731, the island's coordinates first appeared on nautical charts under the ominous label "Pirate Island." This piece of land, located near the maritime trade route to the West Indies, was a popular resting place for numerous sea raiders. Here loot was divided, boisterous feasts were held, and the burials of comrades became part of the island's dark legend. Among these pirates were such notable historical figures as William Kidd, Edward Teach, and Olivier Levasseur. To this day, the island's bays still hold the mystical traces of the wrecked ships of these famous seafarers. By sunset we will reach our hotel.

Day 9. August 8, 2027. SAINTE-MARIE ISLAND – WHALES

Sainte-Marie Island is famous for its humpback whale season. This is a thrilling excursion during which you can watch their spectacular breaches and tail slaps. Departure from the hotel at 8:00, return to the hotel by 12:00.
After lunch, an optional (additional charge) quad bike ride awaits us through the sea port, the town center of Sainte-Marie/Ambodifototra, and further north, where we will see a small, beautiful waterfall. After these fun and educational activities, relaxation at the hotel on the beach.

Day 10. August 9, 2027. SAINTE-MARIE ISLAND

After breakfast at the hotel, we will take a second and final boat trip, where we may catch the whales playing, hunting, or simply sunbathing at the surface of the water. Experts will share their knowledge. Lunch at the hotel.
After lunch we take a walk around Île aux Nattes. Île aux Nattes is very beautiful: here we will see coconut palms, white sand, rocks, a beautiful natural pool where we can swim, and simply enjoy the beauty of nature and the fresh air of the Indian Ocean. After sunset we will slowly return to the hotel and rest after an eventful day.

Day 11. August 10, 2027. SAINTE-MARIE ISLAND – ANTANANARIVO

After breakfast, by 8:30 a water adventure by canoe to "Sand Island" awaits us. Here, far from civilization, stretches a sandy paradise dominated only by feathered inhabitants. Seabirds lay their eggs here in summer, and sometimes in winter, creating a unique natural balance. After swimming we will return to shore to enjoy a Malagasy-style picnic.
After lunch — transfer to the airport and an evening flight to Antananarivo. Upon arrival – meeting and transfer to the hotel. Dinner at the wonderful Café de la Gare restaurant, in the colonial building of the former railway station.

Day 12. August 11, 2027. ANTANANARIVO – RETURN INTERNATIONAL FLIGHT

Today we will set aside time to visit the souvenir market. In Madagascar, like everything else, the souvenirs here are unique. Here you can purchase ancient ammonites up to one meter in diameter or petrified wood of various species of trees.
Transfer to the airport.
