After approximately four hours on the road, we will arrive in the heart of the world’s oldest desert — the Namib Desert. Stretching over 2,000 kilometers along the Atlantic Ocean, the Namib gave its name to Namibia itself and is considered one of the most ancient deserts on Earth. In the Nama language, “Namib” means “vast place” or “endless expanse.”
Here we will explore Sesriem Canyon and have our first encounter with the iconic red dunes. We will witness a magical sunset from the top of the famous Dune 45. For those seeking adventure, optional quad biking across the dunes will be available.

After this intense morning, we will head to Dune Star Camp, set within the vast desert landscapes. After a late lunch, there will be time to relax and enjoy the silence of the Namib Desert.

We then continue our journey to Spitzkoppe, where we will walk around the famous granite arch and explore this striking desert landscape.
We also visit a Himba village to learn about their traditional way of life and cultural heritage.
The Himba, together with the Herero, migrated to Namibia from East Africa several centuries ago. Around 150 years ago, the Herero separated from the Himba and moved further south. The Himba are traditionally cattle, goat, and sheep herders. Their intricate hairstyles, created using ochre and animal fat, vary among women depending on age and indicate social status. The Himba have preserved their traditional beliefs, including ancestor worship and rituals connected to the sacred fire (okuruwo), which serves as an important link between the world of the living and the ancestral realm. The sacred fire is kept burning as long as the village chief is alive; upon his death, his house is dismantled and the fire is extinguished.
By evening, we continue to our lodge for overnight stay.
Meals included: breakfast, dinnerAccommodation included: Ai Aiba Lodge or similarDay 7: October 26, 2026 (Monday). SAN BUSHMEN TRIBE – ETOSHA NATIONAL PARK (5 HOURS DRIVE)After breakfast, we immerse ourselves in the culture of the San people, known for their exceptional survival skills in the Kalahari Desert. We will visit a Bushmen camp and join them on a “bush walk,” where we will learn first-hand about the secrets of this ancient hunter-gatherer culture. It is believed that the San are able to find water where others cannot.
Historically, the San were pushed into some of the harshest environments of the Kalahari, where they developed remarkable resilience and survival techniques. Many anthropologists consider the Kalahari region to be one of the possible cradles of humankind, and the San among the oldest human populations on Earth. Their expressive language, which includes distinctive click and snapping sounds, leaves a strong impression on visitors.
It is also interesting that the San, living in southern Africa, display certain East Asian features, including epicanthic folds, which continues to intrigue researchers and anthropologists. Their presence reminds us how many mysteries of human history remain unsolved.
Etosha National Park, located on the northwestern edge of the Kalahari, is built around a vast salt pan surrounded by savannah. Its sparse vegetation provides excellent visibility for wildlife observation, making it one of the best safari destinations in Africa. Here, animals are often seen clearly and up close, offering outstanding photography opportunities in a single day of safari.
In the evening, we arrive at the lodge, enjoy dinner, and go on a night safari.

Etosha also hosts around 340 bird species, including ostriches, pink flamingos, pelicans, marabou storks, secretary birds, and many birds of prey, as well as approximately 50 species of snakes. We will spend the entire day observing wildlife in its natural habitat.
