Day 1. August 10, 2023 (Thursday). Naryan-Mar*
Departure to Naryan-Mar *.
* Recommended flight UTair UT-333, departure from Moscow at 9:10, arrival in Naryan-Mar on the same day at 11:50 am or another flight arriving no later than 16:00.
We meet at the airport of the city of Naryan-Mar and go on an excursion around Naryan-Mar.
After the excursion (duration 2.5 - 3 hours) check-in on the the flagship of the RUSARC fleet - the yacht Peter I.

Day 2. August 11, 2023 (Friday). First anchorage - Matveev Island
A protected area, an abandoned weather station, ancient Pomor crosses of the 16th century, a lighthouse that you can climb, a walrus rookery... We carefully observe the life of animals, do not disturb their peace, we go for a walk. And further - we go to the island of Vaygach, sacred for the Nenets.

Day 3. August 12, 2023 (Saturday). Sacred island Vaygach
Vaygach is a whole archipelago, surrounded by 111 tiny islets and rocks. The Nenets name of the island is "Khebidya-ya" - "holy land". Legend has it that the World Old Man and Old Woman, Vesako and Hedako lived here. The path along the Land's End, the knot of the Pomor route to the Siberian seas is a sacred place for the indigenous peoples of the North. Ancient sites of the Stone Age, huts, Pomor crosses-landmarks of the Russian shores, hundreds of idols, traces of sacrifices, a dozen sanctuaries with telling names - Lisiy Kamen, Oleniy Kamen, Bear's Head, Bolvanskaya Gora. Here, each stone is steeped in mystery, deep history and unique atmosphere.
Morning disembarkation - we walk in the area of the Semilikogo Idol.
Then we go by sea to the north of the island, look at the walrus rookery and in the evening we drop anchor in a cozy bay, closed from all winds, where a real hermit lives. And if we're lucky, we'll find him at home!

Day 4. August 13, 2023 (Sunday). Strait of Kara Gate - Novaya Zemlya
At dawn, we set out on a course to the north, crossing the famous strait - the Kara Gates. In the afternoon we get to the Rusanovo camp, inspect well-preserved buildings, make several landings on the surrounding islands. Novaya Zemlya is full of islands and deep bays, and our main adventure there is finding polar bears.

Day 5. August 14, 2023 (Monday). Novaya Zemlya skerries
We cruise around the islands, bays, skerries. We are inspired by northern nature, we are looking for polar bears, we are seeing historical sights.

Day 6. August 15, 2023 (Tuesday). Tundra Islands in the south of Novaya Zemlya
We leave for the southernmost tip of the archipelago. Here, far from humans, on Kusovaya Zemlya and the islands of Bolshoy and Maly Loginov, local deer, wild geese and swans live.
We walk carefully, very anxiously and carefully - there may be clutches of eggs and broods of chicks literally under our feet. In the evening we set off on the way back - at the mouth of the Pechora River.

Day 7- 8. August 16 - 17, 2023 (Wednesday - Thursday). Return to Naryan - Mar
In case of good weather, we spend another day on the islands in the south of Novaya Zemlya and move a back way (in bad weather we go back on the 7th day, as the transition will take more time)

Day 9. August 18, 2023 (Friday). Return home
We get up early in the morning, have a delicious breakfast and leave with a transfer to the airport*.

Steel expedition sailing yacht - the flagship of the RUSARC fleet
The yacht Peter I is made of steel and is designed to sail in high latitudes in all weather conditions. It is fully equipped for a comfortable stay of guests, equipped with navigation and rescue equipment, satellite communications, an inverter and a diesel generator.
All expeditions are attended by a reliable crew consisting of a captain, first mate and cook. A crew boat is provided for landings.
