TRAVEL PROGRAM: TOUR TO AMAZONIA

Day 1. 26 April 2026 (Sunday). LIMA

After the journey — free time. For some, it will be about recovering from the flight; for others — their first strolls along the Costa Verde promenade. Here, above the cliffs, palm trees rise high, skate parks sit side by side with street art, and the air is filled with the scent of salt and flowers.

In the evening — dinner at one of the local restaurants with an ocean view. This is a chance to taste Peru from the very first notes: the freshest ceviche, tender onions in lime marinade, fried cancha corn, and perhaps your first glass of pisco sour under the Peruvian sun.

We’re not in a hurry. Today is a day of gentle acclimatization and the first touch of a new continent. Tomorrow — the real journey begins.

Early morning transfer to the airport for the flight to Cusco (Possible flight – Latam Airlines departing at 06:05). Arrival in Cusco (3,400 meters above sea level) at 07:30 (or at another time in the morning), meet our guide at the airport and begin exploring Cusco. We start our route with a visit to the Imperial City, a living example of the fusion of Andean and Spanish cultures. Our first stop is the Monastery of Santo Domingo, built over Korikancha, the ancient Inca palace and the main center of worship for the Sun God.

From there, we will move to the archaeological park of Saqsaywaman, with its impressive Inca architecture. After that, we will visit Kenko Chico, the ancient temple of the Puma, where we will see the sacrificial altar inside a massive rock, the fortress of Puca Pujara, and Tambomachay – sacred sources of life and health. Our guide will share with us the history of these Inca sites. Dinner at one of the wonderful restaurants and overnight in Cusco.

Meals included: breakfast
Accommodation: Los Portales Cusco 3* or similar

Day 3. 28 April 2026 (Tuesday). CUSCO – PATABAMBA – INCA TRAIL – HUCHUY QOSQO (Trekking 13 km, about 6 hours)

After breakfast, we will travel to the village of Patabamba (about 1.5 hours drive). This is the starting point of our hike to Huchuy Qosqo. There is also a meeting point for horses for those who decide to ride along the route (upon prior request). Our hike will be truly beautiful as we will pass through the Sacred Valley with stunning views. We set off on foot (or on horseback, for those who prefer to ride) on the trek from Patabamba through Kenko and Puka Marka to Huchuy Qosqo. The hike to the Inca site of Huchuy Qosqo takes 6 to 7 hours. Along the way, we will have lunch on the trail in a beautiful spot. Our path leads through high passes, valleys, and small settlements, as well as beautiful mountain lakes.

Thanks to extensive meadows and glaciers, this area is home to many birds, including Andean geese, partridges, and lapwings, as well as raptors. The final part of the route follows the original Inca Trail, with its historic bridges, stone steps, and cobbled paths cutting through an incredibly picturesque canyon. Time seems to stand still here. Our destination today is the village of Huchuy Qosqo, located near the eponymous Inca settlement (Little Cusco). The village of Huchuy Qosqo is a traditional Andean community located high above Cusco and the Sacred Valley, where people have preserved the customs and traditions of past centuries, and most villagers earn income from raising llamas, alpacas, and cultivating some crops such as potatoes, corn, and beans.

We will leave our exploration of the Inca site for tomorrow; today we will head to our very cozy and authentic guesthouse located on a beautiful slope nearby (20 minutes) from the Inca site. The local family will be waiting for us with a warm welcome. Dinner and overnight at the guesthouse of the local family.

Meals included: breakfast, lunch, dinner
Accommodation: guesthouse in Huchuy Qosqo

Day 4. 29 April 2026 (Wednesday). HUCHUY QOSQO – LAMAY – OLLANTAYTAMBO – MACHU PICCHU TOWN (Trekking 5 km, 2 – 2.5 hours).

Breakfast at the guesthouse and photo session with the local family. The people are incredibly hospitable and eager to learn about us as much as we are about them. Today we will focus on exploring the customs and culture of the Quechua and visiting the Inca archaeological site of Huchuy Qosqo. The route from the house to the ancient Inca city takes 20 minutes, after which the guide will conduct a tour and tell the history of this place and the culture of the Incas. Here, in a picturesque spot, we will have a photo session with the Quechua family in traditional clothing. We then head to the Sacred Valley to the village of Lamay. After a steep and prolonged descent for about 2 hours, we will have lunch at a local home in the town of Lamay. After lunch, we will take a bus to a landmark – a local restaurant with the tastiest cuy (guinea pig) in Peru to sample this delicacy. We will transfer on our private bus to Ollantaytambo (2 hours drive) and finally take a train to the town of Machu Picchu (formerly Aguas Calientes), where we will check into our hotel. Dinner and overnight at the hotel in Machu Picchu.

Meals included: breakfast, lunch, dinner
Accommodation: Encanto Machupicchu or similar

Day 5. 30 April 2026 (Thursday). MACHU PICCHU TOWN – THE ABANDONED INCA CITY OF MACHU PICCHU – OLLANTAYTAMBO

Today we will enjoy and explore the holy of holies – the abandoned Inca city of Machu Picchu, taking the first bus to the archaeological site. We will have a two-hour guided tour during which we will explore every corner of this New Wonder of the World and UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is an unforgettable experience! Our guide will skillfully lead us through the energy-filled ruins and various streets. After that, we will take a self-guided walk around the town squares of this world spiritual center, and we will climb the whimsically carved stone steps. For an additional fee, you can climb Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain to appreciate the beauty and magnificence of Machu Picchu (the ascent must be booked in advance several months ahead!). Descent to Aguas Calientes and then train back to Ollantaytambo. A walk around the very beautiful historic center of Ollantaytambo. Some streets look just like they did in Inca times! Dinner and overnight at the Tunupa Lodge or similar.

Meals included: breakfast,
Accommodation: Tunupa Lodge or similar

Day 6. 1 May 2026 (Friday). OLLANTAYTAMBO – SALINERAS AND MARAS – MORAY – URUBAMBA – CHINCHERO – PISAC – CUSCO

After breakfast at 7 in the morning, we set off on our transport for a great journey through the Sacred Valley of the Incas. We will start our tour at the Inca archaeological site of Ollantaytambo and then head to Salineras – the thousand-year-old salt mines where salt of excellent quality is still harvested. Hundreds of salt baths were used to extract salt even before the Inca era. A natural spring at the top of the valley releases a small stream of water highly saturated with salt, which is diverted to salt pans and evaporated – this is how salt is formed. Next, we will visit Moray, where we will be greeted by the breathtaking view of colossal concentric terraces reminiscent of an ancient amphitheater.

This place served as an agricultural laboratory for the Incas, aimed at adapting different varieties of grains, vegetables, and even fruits on terraces of varying heights, which created 20 different microclimates. After that, we head to Urubamba for lunch at a restaurant. After lunch, we will go to Chinchero to see one of the most beautiful historical centers in Peru. After a quick walk to the central square in Chinchero and a stop at the viewpoint, we hurry to the archaeological site of Pisac, where we will see a huge Inca cemetery with over 2,000 tombs. We will learn about the incredible agricultural terraces carved into the mountains. We will spend about 1.5 hours here exploring the ancient Inca city. These ruins are quite extensive and contain many examples of original Inca architecture. Transfer to Cusco to our beloved Los Portales Cusco hotel. Near our hotel, the National Art Center hosts an evening cultural performance with traditional dances, which we will try to attend.

Meals included: breakfast, lunch
Accommodation: Los Portales Cusco 3* or similar

Day 7. May 2, 2026 (Saturday). CUSCO – RAINBOW MOUNTAINS OF PALCOYO – Q'ESWACHAKA BRIDGE – CUSCO

Early in the morning (approximately 4:00 AM), meet your guide at the hotel.
Today we will visit the Rainbow Mountains of Palcoyo, located southeast of Cusco. On the way, we will have the opportunity to see the evolution of the road system, including three bridges: Inca (15th century), Colonial (17th-18th centuries), and Republican (19th century).
After passing through the checkpoint and a brief stop for breakfast, we will arrive at Huallatakunka, where we will begin our hike to see the colorful mountains reminiscent of a rainbow. This natural beauty is a sister to the famous Vinicunca but is closer and features a gentler ascent. We will enjoy breathtaking views from three viewpoints along our hike. From one of these, we will be able to see the magnificent Ausangate Mountain with its snow-capped peak.
At the end of the trek, we will Return to Cusco filled with experiences. Dinner and overnight stay in Cusco.
