tour to Tonga humpback whales, whales watching, expedition to tonga kingdom eua island polynesia

Find yourself in the heart of the Pacific Ocean, where crystal-clear waters become a maternity ward for majestic humpback whales. The green cliffs of Eua Island rise above endless lagoons, and the starry sky seems closer than anywhere else on Earth.

Our marine expedition to Tonga offers a rare opportunity to witness the ocean in all its glory. We can watch whales play with their young, dive into crystal-clear waters, and live on a secluded island. Days are spent on the water, exploring the depths of the ocean where curious baby humpbacks approach us at arm's length.
Evenings are spent under the endless Polynesian sky, sipping kava and listening to the sounds of the ocean.

This is not just a journey but an encounter with nature at its most pristine and beautiful.

TRAVEL PROGRAM: tour to Tonga

Day 1. October 2, 2026 (Friday). ARRIVAL ON TONGA

Welcome to Tonga! We recommend arriving at least one day early to allow for the logistics of your adventure. After your international flight, we will take a short domestic flight to the beautiful island of Eua (or a ferry (3 hours way), depends on the weather conditions). This is a small, quiet island with comfortable accommodation and an almost complete absence of other boats, making it the perfect destination for whale watching.
Upon arrival, we will check into our small houses with hot showers and stunning ocean views. After a short rest, we embark on our first boat trip, where we will learn about the equipment and practice entering the water. You will also get to know our team and enjoy the beauty of the island.
After returning to our accommodation, dinner and preparing for another exciting day.

Meals included: breakfast, lunch, dinner
Accommodation included: double cabins on the island

* Recommended flights to Islamabad:
— any flight, arriving in before 12:00 am on October 2.

Day 3. October 4, 2026 (Sunday). DAY OFF IN TONGA

Sunday in Tonga is a day off, which is traditionally dedicated to church attendance. If you wish, you can join the service: the choral singing and the atmosphere of the local temples make a strong impression and make you feel the spirit of the island culture.
After lunch, we will take a leisurely walk around our island, get to know it, exploring the cliffs and other natural attractions. Let's listen to a lecture about whales in the evening!
Return to the hotel, dinner and rest.

Meals included: breakfast, lunch, dinner
Accommodation included: double cabins on the island

Days 4 - 6. October 5 - 7, 2026 (Monday - Wednesday). DAYS AT SEA

Over the next three days, we will have numerous whale encounters! All days we will get up early and go out to sea for our walks.
Humpback whales come to the shores of Tonga every year for understandable but very beautiful reasons: here, in calm and sheltered bays, females give birth and nurse their cubs, and males perform their famous songs and participate in mating “dances". The warm water, the absence of predators and the natural silence make the archipelago an ideal refuge. By the way, female whales often move especially gently and smoothly near the surface, which is how they help the baby to calmly learn to breathe and stay afloat. It's an amazing moment! We have every chance to observe this.
Eua Island is a remote and secluded destination. According to statistics from previous years, mothers with their baby whales stay there for a slightly longer period than on other islands. In the beginning of October, you can observe many whales that are curious and come as close as possible to us.
Humpback whales communicate using deep, lingering sounds that can spread for many kilometers underwater. These vibrations help them find each other and navigate the ocean. For us, such sounds sound truly mysterious and fascinating, like an echo from another world. Hopefully, we will be able to hear how these amazing creatures communicate.
In the evenings, after sea trips, you can use the massage or SPA services, which are kindly provided by the owners of our cabins.
We will also have a kava ceremony, an ancient Tongan tradition, in which we will sit in a circle and watch how the traditional drink of the peoples of Polynesia, Melanesia and Micronesia, made from the root of the plant of the same name, is prepared. Then the drink is poured into coconut cups, and we taste it together, while talking about our encounters with whales.

Meals included: breakfast, lunch, dinner
Accommodation included: double cabins on the island

Day 7. October 8, 2026 (Thursday). RETURNING HOME

Early wake up and breakfast. We say goodbye to the ocean, our local team and go to the main island of Tonga also by plane or ferry, depending on the weather. Upon arrival at Tongatapu, we act according to circumstances: someone will go to the airport, and someone will stay overnight and continue their rest. In order to avoid possible delays due to weather conditions and the risk of missing an international flight, we recommend taking a return flight the next day.
