AlUla, the capital of the eponymous governorate in the Medina Province, is the cradle of ancient civilizations. It is the birthplace of the Arab kingdoms of Dadan and Lihyan in the 1st millennium BCE, whose capital was the city of Dadan. Later, to the north of AlUla, the Nabateans established Hegra (Mada'in Salih), their second most important city, now the first UNESCO World Heritage Site in Saudi Arabia.
Our immersion into history will begin at the ancient fortress of Musa ibn Nusayr, believed to have been built during the time of the Dadanites. Then we will head to Jabal Ikmah, a natural wonder whose cliffs hold numerous ancient petroglyphs and inscriptions that tell of the lives and beliefs of long-vanished civilizations.
We will soak up the atmosphere of the past at the old market of AlUla, which for centuries served as a meeting place for pilgrims and travelers. The culmination of the day will be a visit to legendary Hegra, where we will see the majestic Nabatean tombs carved into the rock and admire the famous Elephant Rock—a colossal natural formation resembling an elephant's head and body.
After exploring ancient Hegra and admiring the Elephant Rock, we will head to one of the region's most modern and astonishing landmarks—the Maraya concert hall.
Maraya, which translates from Arabic as "mirror" or "reflection," is the largest mirrored building in the world, as recorded in the Guinness World Records. This architectural masterpiece, entirely covered in mirror panels, blends into the fantastic landscape of AlUla's desert valley, reflecting the surrounding golden cliffs and boundless sky. It creates an illusion of invisibility and serves as a symbolic bridge between the region's ancient heritage and its future.
We will not only admire this marvel of modern engineering from the outside but, if possible, step inside to appreciate its unique design and experience the special atmosphere of AlUla's main cultural center, which hosts world-class concerts and exhibitions.
After an enriching program, we will spend the night at the hotel in AlUla.

The natural jewel of Saudi Arabia, Wadi Qaraqir - also known as
Wadi Deise - is a 15-Km-long canyon running through the Jebel Qaraqir, a heaven palm oasis with crestal clear running water. This natural wonder was for a long time a well-kept secret among explorers, before the road leading to the nearby city of Deise was built and satellite images were available to the public, which made it quite difficult to find and reach. Today, this natural wonder has become one of the must-see places in Saudi Arabia.
Among all there is a more discreet but fascinating place, Al-Shaq. This name means the tear (or rip) which makes sense as here the earth has been literally torn apart by tectonic forces. That is the reason why this place is also known as the Great Canyon of Saudi Arabia.
It is possible to be at the exact place where the breach appears and stand with feet on both sides of it. A track allows relatively easy access to the northern part of the canyon where the impressive scale of Al-Shaq is revealed. An overhang offers a perfect perspective for a souvenir picture but be careful not to get too close as rocks may fall some 300 meters lower!
